Staying at the Old Village Post House . . .

The Old Village Post House offers travelers gracious and inviting accommodations set in the heart of a quaint, historic fishing community. Only minutes from downtown Charleston or the beaches on Sullivan's Island and the Isle of Palms, guests can relax and enjoy the peaceful, quiet neighborhood filled with old oak trees and harbor side homes. The inn features six guest rooms, a restaurant with two dining rooms, a tavern, and a welcoming courtyard.

  • Each guest room is unique, varying in size and decor.
  • Continental breakfast is offered each morning, in the private dining room on the second floor of the inn, featuring freshly baked muffins and pastries from our own Ambrosia Bread and Pastries.
  • Daily newspapers are also available in the breakfast room.
  • Each room is equipped with cable TV, telephones, irons and ironing boards.
  • All rooms have their own private bathrooms.

Room One
This pretty room located on the second floor of the inn provides a tranquil respite for guests. Enjoy a private bath with full sized whirlpool tub and shower, two poster full sized bed, cable TV, telephone, and continental breakfast in a nearby group dining room.

Rate: $135 plus hospitality tax

Room Two
This intimate second floor guest room has a two poster Queen bed, private bath with full sized whirlpool tub and shower, cable TV, telephone, and includes our continental breakfast in the group dining room located just across the hall.

Room Three
This pretty second floor room is furnished with two twin beds and has lots of windows and natural light. The slightly larger private bath has an elegant nonworking fireplace, reminiscent of the past. With hardwood floors and ten foot ceilings, this is the perfect room for a relaxing visit with family members and friends. Room three includes private bath with whirlpool tub and shower, cable TV, telephone, and continental breakfast.

Room Four
Located on the third floor of the inn, this spacious guest room features large windows overlooking the back of the property. A king sized poster bed, larger private bath with whirlpool tub and shower, cable TV, telephone, and continental breakfast are included. Lovely floral colors and natural light combine for a most welcoming feel for guests.

Rate: $165 plus hospitality tax

Room Five
This queen suite provides the perfect getaway! A small sitting area, private bedroom, and dormer windows create the feeling of cozy privacy on the third floor of the inn. The private bath has two doors, making it accessible from both the bed and sitting areas. A whirlpool tub, cable TV and continental breakfast are included.

Rate: $165 plus hospitality tax

Room Six
Known as our honeymoon suite, this lovely large room features a rice-canopied four poster bed, sitting area, and extra large private bath. The oversized whirlpool tub can accommodate two! Overlooking the front of the inn, this suite is one you'll hate to leave. Cable TV, telephone and continental breakfast are included. Ask about our special wedding night package, for additional amenities to celebrate your special stay with us.

Dinner - Nightly from 5:30pm

BANQUET INFORMATION

Thank you for considering the Old Village Post House for your upcoming event and private dining. Whether a business meeting, special occasion, or holiday, your guests will enjoy Maverick cuisine and professional warm service. Our staff will assist you with all private party planning, including special services such as rentals, flowers, cakes, equipment and more.

Our banquet menus are priced per person. A service charge of 20% and 8% tax will be added to the bill. Our Maverick chefs are happy to assist with customized menus to fit your special needs.

The Post House offers two rooms for private group dining, in a quaint setting just outside of downtown Charleston. Our second floor dining rooms can accommodate up to 18 guests in the Blue Room, or up to 50 guests in the larger second floor dining room.

A deposit of $10.00 per person is required to hold a room for an event. Deposits will be refunded up to 2 weeks prior to event date. Full payment is due upon completion of the event. The deposit will be applied and credited to the balance. A guaranteed guest count is required 72 hours prior to the date of the event.

Directions to the Old Village Post House

From Downtown Charleston: Take Meeting St. North to Hwy. 17N over the Cooper River Bridge. Bear left at the foot of the bridge onto Route 703, Coleman Blvd. Cross over Shem Creek, and move into the right lane. Go through the traffic signal (at Mill Street) and bear right onto Whilden Street. At St. Andrews Church, turn right onto Venning St. The Old Village Post House is located at the corner of Venning and Pitt.

From North Charleston/Airport: Take I-26 to 17N, the Mount Pleasant Exit. Follow 17N over the Cooper River Bridge. Bear left at the foot of the bridge onto Route 703, Coleman Blvd. Cross over Shem Creek, and move into the right lane. Go through the traffic signal and bear right onto Whilden St.. At St. Andrews Church, turn right onto Venning Street. The Old Village Post House is located at the corner of Venning and Pitt.

From 526: Follow 526 all the way to the end, and bear right onto Coleman Blvd. Follow Coleman until the 2nd traffic signal, and turn left onto Simmons St. Turn right onto Venning St. The Old Village Post House is located at the corner of Venning and Pitt.

From Mount Pleasant: From 17 South, turn left onto Houston Northcutt Blvd. At the traffic signal turn left onto Coleman Blvd. Continue straight, cross over Shem Greek, and move into the right lane. Go through the traffic signal and bear right onto Whilden St. At St. Andrews Church, take a right onto Venning St. The Old Village Post House is located at the corner of Venning and Pitt.

From IOP/Wild Dunes: Take Palm Blvd. to Sullivan’s Island. At the traffic signal turn right onto Route 703 and cross over the Ben Sawyer Bridge. Continue straight onto what will become Coleman Blvd. Turn left at the 4th traffic signal onto Simmons St. Turn right onto Venning St. The Old Village Post House is located and the corner of Venning and Pitt.

From Kiawah Island/Johns Island: Take Bohicket Rd. to Hwy. 17N. Take 17N towards Charleston. Follow 17N over the Cooper River Bridge. Bear left at the foot of the bridge onto Route 703, Coleman Blvd. Cross over Shem Creek, and move into the right lane. Go through the traffic signal and bear right on to Whilden St. At St. Andrews Church, turn a right on Venning Street. The Old Village Post House is located at the corner of Venning and Pitt.
